This spacious country house in Vera was built in 2001 on a 12.201 square meter plot and is of a singular quality. with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, all on one floor. Below the villa is a south facing, self contained apartment with two bedrooms and a bathroom. Detached from the villa, the owners recently restored an old cortijo. The Villa

Via a grand entrance staircase, you enter a spacious hall, followed by a large atrium with feature fountain in Portuguese marble. The space oozes sunlight that flows in from the high windows. From the atrium you can access every room of the villa. 

On the Southside are the living spaces. These include a spacious fitted kitchen with breakfast area and a large lounge with dining area. Both rooms have access to the large elevated porch that surrounds the East and South facade of the property and overlooks the pool area.

In the Northeast corner is the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Next to the master bedroom is a double bedroom. On the Northwest corner is another double bedroom and a comfortable bathroom. The Cortijo

The owners just restored a 110 square meters authentic cortijo, across from the main house. It has an entirely new roof, all walls were repaired and the windows and front door were replaced. The electricity is connected. The house is now ready to be finished: interior walls, floors, tiles, kitchen, bathrooms, plumbing and electricity need to be finished. The lay out allows for a large entrance hall, two bedrooms, a bathroom, a spacious lounge and a separate kitchen. There is plenty of space around the cortijo to add terraces. 


There is an 11 by 5 m sized pool with sitting area. Around the pool area are large terraces and trees that provide privacy, though the property is not overlooked. The large terraces allow for comfortable outdoor living to enjoy the mild climate of the area. There is always a terrace that allows you to enjoy the winter sun or that provides the necessary shade in summer. 

There are two barbecue areas. One is next to the kitchen and has a lounge area, the other one is near the pool. 

There is a 40 square meter garage and there is ample parking space.

Water and electricity

The villa has mains water and electricity. The property also owns the right for the use of irrigation water. There is a water deposit that can store up to 80.000l of irrigation water.

The house is very well maintained and move in ready, except for the cortijo.

There is central heating (oil fuel) with radiators in all rooms of the house and in the apartment. There is a log burner in the lounge.

The Location

Access to the property’s main entrance is from a public road that connects the village with the Valle del Este golf course and the A7 motorway. From this road you turn onto a rural asphalted road that continues to a not asphalted road to the property. The entry gate  is in front of the parking area and the garage.

The typical Spanish village of Vera is at 1,5 km from the villa. Here you find the weekly market on Saturdays, a large variety of bars and restaurants, a variety of Spanish and international supermarkets, several pre-schools, four primary schools and three high schools. There is a municipal sports centre with indoor and outdoor courts and an indoor pool. There are banks, private and public doctor’s practices and dental clinics. 

The coast of Vera is at 7 minutes from the property. There are six kilometres of extensive beaches with thin and golden sand, surrounded by a line of unique flora, envy of the entire region. A very specific area at the northern stretch of one the longest beaches of Vera, El Playazo, is reserved for naturism. While beach tourism with textile preference has chooses the southern stretch of the Playazo Beach, the Puerto Rey Beach and the beautiful Playa Las Marinas-Bolaga that runs all the way to the port of Garrucha. This way each person has the freedom to choose one area or another.

The fishing port of Garrucha is at 10 km. Here is a weekly market on Friday that runs through its narrow streets, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and schools. Garrucha has a new marina, with plenty of boat space to lease. 

Mojacar is 16 km from the property. Mojacar has a coastline of over 20km with the beautiful white village on the hilltop. There are deserted coves and large sandy beaches. There are two 18 hole golf courses in Mojacar.  

Vera and its neighbouring villages enjoy a micro climate and have over 310 days of sunshine per year. Temperatures during the day in winter tend to be around 16-22 degrees and in summer 28-32 degrees.

The closest airport is Almeria about 50 minutes away, while the international airport of Murcia (140 km) is at one and a half hour and Alicante airport (200 km) is a two hour drive away. The airport of Malaga is at two and a half hours.
