Finca El Figo Seco: Small Paradise in the Hills of Antas with Sea Views, as seen on A Place in the Sun.
This is a very private property set in a magical and unique location just 5 minutes from the centre of Antas and about 15 minutes from the beach. This is a large estate that covers over 70.000 sqm of natural park and consists of a main house, a pool house, large swimming pool, a private well, a closed water deposit and an open deposit. The main house and the pool house are set around a lush green garden in contrast with the surrounding almost desert landscape of Almeria. The houses are elegantly modern and at the same time very Andalusian. They were designed by Lucas Marquenie.
The main house has a built size of 210m2. The main entrance leads through large antique wooden doors to an inner courtyard. An antique entrance door opens into a spacious vestibule with fitted closets. Here you have access to either the spacious lounge, the master retreat or to a guest toilet.
Upon entering the lounge that is extended with an art studio, you will notice the contemporary interior of the house. The large floor to ceiling windows make the beautiful and paradisiacal gardens very present in this space.
Connected to the living room are several covered outdoor lounge terraces and a large, al fresco dining area. The interior of the house is contemporary and stylish, furnished with all modern amenities and a spacious open plan kitchen. Next to the kitchen is a pantry with fitted closets and from the pantry you have direct access to the garage and utility room that is almost entirely dedicated to the purification of water.
On the ground floor you will also find the master suite with dressing and en suite bathroom with a double bathtub and a walk-in shower.
From the lounge, a staircase leads to the first floor. Here you find a large terrace and a spacious guest room with en suite shower room.
Around the house are wonderful mature gardens that are carefully illuminated in the evening. There is a huge lawn with all kinds of palm trees and there is a separate cactus garden with local varieties.
A large salt water pool with open air bar connects the main house to the pool house. The pool house is 62m2 and can be transformed in a 3 bedroom guesthouse or a 2 bed guest apartment. Underneath the pool house is a large storage facility.
There are several sun terraces in and around the garden. Walking down from the garden, you will find a petanque court that is at the same time a viewpoint that overlooks the beautiful countryside, orchards and hills of the estate.
The property has its own private well that covers all water usage of the estate and that passes through various filtration processes. The large part of this process takes place in a closed patio next to the garage, before it enters the house where a reverse osmosis system makes it perfect drinking water.
This small paradise is quiet and safe. It is located in an elevated position and overlooks the countryside all the way to the sea. On a hill top next to the estate is a little chapel that is actually a sanctuary that gets flooded with pilgrims once a year.
It is perfectly suited for people who want a quiet luxury home in a natural setting yet only minutes away from the towns of Vera, Antas and Los Gallardos. There are markets, beaches, chapels and fishing villages in 15 minute radius. The beaches from Mojacar are at 15km. The beaches from Vera are at 16km.
The house is fully air-conditioned, has radiant heating in the bathroom and a solar powered water heating system. Independent contracted firms take care of the gardens and the pool. Internet is available. There is the legal possibility to extend the built surface of the property.
The property consists of several ‘fincas’ that cover 73.059 square meters.
